Our Mission
- Provide an effective peer network to encourage, support, and promote healthy living for all students.
- Seek to make students aware of the issues associated with unhealthy behaviors through education and up-to-date information, as well as life skills training to assist students in making healthy life-style choices.
- The philosophy is that students can play a unique, effective role in encouraging their peers to consider, talk honestly about, seek professional advice, and develop responsible habits and attitudes toward alcohol and drugs, diversity, body image, relationships, sexual assault prevention, stress management, and wellness.
PEER EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
- Attend 80% of the meetings.
- All training, retreats, etc. are mandatory.
- Must maintain 2.5 GPA.
Peer Educators are:
- On good standing with the university.
- Leaders in promoting health/wellness on our campus and community.
- A role-model for our peers.
- Dedicated, passionate, non-judgmental, and open minded.
- Team players working together towards a common goal.
